Artist Darius Hulea Sculptures Portraits Of Historical Figures Using Industrial Metal Wires

0

Romanian artist Darius Hulea sculpts statues of famous people from history using metal wire. Indeed his metal wire sculpture works are impressive and unique. Darius can create sketches of famous historical figures that come to life in 3D using industrial metal wires. Without a doubt, his work is brilliant.

Hulea knew at a young age that he liked arts and crafts His grandmother made weaving traditional geometric fabrics while his grandfather worked with agricultural tools. This gave him the idea to combine craft materials with industrial ones.

In his words “I learned in my second year of college that the great artists of modern history used the idea of drawing in space or drawing space through different metal structures.” Some used things from factories, like Calder or David Smith, while others, like Picasso, used things that had already been used. Actually, that moment was the turning point of the sculptures I am creating now.

This kind of drawing reminds me of the sketches of Michelangelo and Da Vinci, two of the most famous Renaissance artists. They are serious, realistic compositions art.
