#1 Pug
Pugs had longer legs and their faces were not as flat as they are today. Hence their faces had become flatter during these 100 years, currently, a lot of pugs suffer from breathing difficulties.
#2 Bull Terrier
Bull terriers used to be much taller and skinnier, but it has become shorter and more muscular over time. The shape of their head has evolved to be much more distinctive.
#3 Old English Sheepdog
The Old English sheepdogs’ fur used to be much more shaggy than it is today and except for this, the breed remained relatively unchanged.
#4 Basset Hound
The Basset Hound’s ears have become longer and its hind legs have become considerably shorter.
#5 Dachshund
The legs and noses of Dachshunds were respectively much longer and shorter than they do today.
#6 Irish Setter
The coat became a little thicker and their bodies became a little thinner. Except for these, the Irish setters have remained relatively unchanged.
#7 Newfoundland
100 years ago, Newfoundlands used to weigh significantly less. The adults were weighing around 100 pounds, compared to today and now it’s around 150 pounds.
#8 Scottish Terrier
Scottish terriers used to have shorter coat that was much slimmer but strong.
#9 German Shepherd
The coat of German shepherds has become denser and elongated, and their overall body shape has become considerably larger than previous during the last 100 years.
#10 Rottweiler
Rottweilers these days do not possess the docked tail and their coat is much coarser than it was before.
#11 West Highland White Terrier
Westies were not changed much during the last 100 years and the only significant change was observed in the length of their fur.
#12 Airedale Terrier
Airedale Terriers were not changed that much during the last century. The only significant change was observed in their faces which became slightly hairier.
#13 Dobermann
The ears and overall body shape of this breed have changed considerably over the last 100 years. Plus, they have become less violent.
#14 Shetland Sheepdog
Over the last 100 years, the fur of Shetland Sheepdogs has become much more elongated than the previous and the dogs themselves have nearly got doubled in size.
